Look, I’m not a relationship guru. I can’t offer you much in the way of sex advice unless you want to laugh at my portfolio of awkward sexual encounters, and I sure as hell can’t tell you how to successfully pick up a woman and remain interested in one another for an extended period of time. Luckily for you, the couple in this BBC News story seems to have everything figured out. She says “yes” to everything he says, and doesn’t mind if he wants to date other women. Sure, by the looks of them they could be confused for a couple of escaped zoo animals or new deep sea creatures, but that’s not the point. The point is, this is the ideal relationship.
In a related story, Dave DeAngelo somehow came across his name on this website (probably from that one entry I wrote about going to Wegmans with Ken one day and having to listen to him say, “You know, Dave DeAngelo says…” for several hours on end), and invited me to be his friend on MySpace. How queer.
Jack is putting the finishing touches on the Obscure References album, Dan is working on artwork and I’ve been making contacts in various cities across these states of ours. Is something in the works? Who knows (answer: probably)!
Last night was quite relaxing. I hung out around the apartment with Fawn and Brian. I joined them for the final minutes of Easy Rider, which they’d just started watching the previous evening. They were both taken aback by the ending, so I offered to pop in an episode of “Home Movies” to raise their spirits. In other me-related news, waking up at 6am unable to breathe through your nose = not fun.
- Ten years ago today, Brianiac guitarist/Moog-ist Tim Taylor was killed in a car accident in his hometown of Dayton, Ohio. The band was at the time working on their fourth studio album (the follow-up to the fantastic Hissing Prigs In Static Couture). Although I discovered Brainiac only after hearing John Schmersal’s next band Enon, I am perpetually awed by the Brainiac oeuvre. I can’t even begin to fathom what could have been had this tragedy not occurred.
Post Script: Thanks Gretchen, for your comment yesterday. Everyone else, thanks for contributing to the largest train wreck in the history of this “blog”. Talk about the worst idea I’ve ever had! Fuck!
